Smiles
Tess is a smiler these days.
Smiling at Rosemary.
This blanket was made by Tess' great great grandmother, Amanda McDonnell, as a baby gift for Judy McDonnell (now Grandma Keithley).

Playing with Tess
Rosemary always joins Tess on the playmat.
Below video: Silas and Rosemary discuss Tess' name while mauling her.

Rosemary in the Snow
I snuck into work a little late today -- couldn't resist playing with Rosemary in the snow.
We finally got some good packing snow.
Kissing her snowman.

It's Still Cold
It's still cold.
The kids have gotten used to it.
On a recent hike, Silas and Rosemary climbed high up the hill in Inwood Hill Park. I took this picture when they turned to look down at the park, and, beyond it, our neighborhood.
Here's Silas playing on snow-covered rocks near the frozen marsh.
He is not on an ice floe. When the tide goes out, it leaves behind -- balancing on the rocks at water's edge -- beautiful sheets of ice.
Silas clambers down to smash them.
At the end of each day, mittens and hats cook atop the radiator.

Tess at One Month
Just like that, Tess is one month old.
At her one-month check-up, Tess weighed in at 9 lbs. 2 oz. (up from 7 lbs. 11.5 oz.). She's doing what she's supposed to be doing and everything works.
Our French pediatrician told Meredith, "She ess pairfect."
